Last year we raised over $13,000 to support one of our founders (Rebecca Bligh – see video below) goals to build a stronger education platform for all primary age children in Ethiopia.  Creating the opportunity for younger children to experience quality education at a primary level means they have a greater chance to go on to high school and on to further education in their life. The country of Ethiopia has a goal to become a middle income country by 2025 by way of educating their younger generations.

100% of the funds raised contributed towards a larger effort, in partnership with Imagine1Day, to provide free quality education to all school-age children in Ethiopia. Imagine1Day has been working in Ethiopia since 2008 and has since built 43 schools in rural communities, all funded through events similar to ours.

This year we are partnering with Legado Initiatives – Legado protects the world’s most threatened ecosystems by empowering the people that call them home. Our work will be focused in a community on Mount Namuli in Mozambique. For more information on their work please check out their website:

16 captains rallied to create their teams of swingers and we went for it! Together we smashed our fundraising goal and had some serious fun! This year we will be swinging Saturday April 21st, join us a for a sweaty good cause!

How it all goes down!

  • Team captain’s volunteer and set about recruiting a team! The more teams, the more people involved, the more money will be raised for Legado Initiatives .
  • Each team (6-10 people) registers for one hour as part of the relay.
  • Each swinger will swing for 1 minute every 6-10 minutes (depending on how many teammates there are) – The bell must never stop swinging, as one teammate is finishing the next teammate needs their bell ready to go….or going.
